Statement
線は、最小限の表現である。
多くの人が幼少期に線を引き、表れた形を確かめる。
線は、結果ではない。
私は、自らが引いた線からの応答に線で応答し、ラリーの中で形や質感を発見する過程に興味を持っている。
応答の対象は、絵との関係のみにとどまらない。オンラインや展示に制作過程そのものを開き、他者との間で何が生まれるかを探索する。
A line is a minimal form of expression.
Many of us draw lines as children and observe the forms that emerge.
A line is not a result.
I am interested in the process of responding with lines to what my own lines give back to me, discovering forms and textures through this ongoing rally.
This exchange extends beyond my relationship with the drawing itself. By opening up the creative process online and through exhibitions, I explore what can emerge between myself and others.
Process
円を描き、紙面から離さずにそのまま円形を繰り返し重ねていく。円の大きさや角度、重なり方を変化させることで、線の集積から立体感や動きが現れる。
完成形をあらかじめ決めるのではなく、現れた形に応答しながら次の線を重ねていく。特に一筆で描く作品では、描くことと考えることが同時に進行する。
I begin by drawing a circle, then continue layering circular lines without lifting away from the paper. By varying their size, angle, and overlap, a sense of depth and movement emerges from the accumulation of lines.
Rather than determining the final form in advance, I continue adding lines in response to the forms that emerge. In works drawn in a single continuous line in particular, drawing and thinking unfold simultaneously.
